TRACY, CA – Frances Mizuno and Peter Holtz, CPA, have taken over the helm of the Sutter Tracy Community Hospital Board of Trustees. The two were named board chair and vice chair, respectively, and began serving their three-year terms in January.
Mizuno is assistant executive director for the San Luis and Delta-Mendota Water Authority, which serves 33 water agencies in the western San Joaquin Valley and Santa Clara Country. A registered professional civil engineer, Mizuno was appointed by former Governor Pete Wilson to the State Reclamation Board and served as commissioner on the San Joaquin County Advisory Water Commission. She joined the Hospital Board of Trustees in 1999, and previously served as board secretary and vice chair. Mizuno has been an active member of the Tracy Hospital Board as well as serving President from September 2000 to April 2004. She’s also been actively involved with the Jefferson School District, the Tracy Tomorrow growth committees, and is on the Board of Directors for Service 1st Bank.
“It’s a great honor to chair the Hospital Board of Trustees and to help meet the community’s growing healthcare needs,” said Mizuno. “Providing high quality, affordable healthcare in a caring and compassionate manner is of the utmost importance. We will be working to ensure that Sutter Tracy continues to grow and provide additional services to our expanding community.”
Holtz was appointed to the position of Vice Chair of the Board and is president of Great Valley Financial, Inc., a firm that helps small and medium sized businesses improve their operating results. The father of four joined the Board in 2003 and served as chair of the board’s Finance Committee. A Tracy resident since 1989, Holtz and his wife Lynette are actively involved in several community organizations, including the Tracy school districts and Tracy Little League. Holtz chaired the South/West Park School Site Council for several years and was active on the School Districts budget committee.
“Sutter Tracy has a successful track record of providing quality medical care to the community,” said Holtz. “I want to do whatever I can to help ensure that the hospital and the Tracy medical community continue to thrive, especially in these challenging times.”
Sutter Tracy Trustee Ray Morelos, owner of El Castillo Café Mexican Restaurant, was also appointed as Secretary and Treasurer of the Board in January. (A full-list of Board of Trustees is listed below.)
